RCNP welcomes two new members and organizes HPP-NL workshop
On 1 October, two new members joined the RCNP: Karla Weingarten and Martin Voggenauer. Karla, who obtained her masters degree from the LMU in Munich, started her PhD at the Institute for Science in Society (ISiS), under the supervision of Kian Salimkhani, Klaas Landsman, and Henk de Regt. She will be working on issues related to emergence and fundamentality in physics. Martin is starting a Postdoc in the philosophy of science, working on metaphysical questions concerning causation, chance, fundamentality, and the direction of time. He is part of Kian's DFG Project on Fundamentality in Physics and Metaphysics. Karla and Martin's first week at the RCNP started off well with the organisation of the fourth HPP-NL workshop. Karla herself spoke at the workshop about the work she did for her thesis on understanding via Feynman diagrams:
