The RCNP organises a reading group, workshops, seminars, colloquia and various other events which can be found on this page.
Reading group
The biweekly RCNP reading group (see schedule) takes place in person in the RCNP office 18.02 in the Erasmus building, but can also be attended online. The RCNP members are usually present, but the reading group is also open to students from Radboud University and other universities. If you wish to join, just send an email to Manus Visser.
Colloquium
The RCNP colloquium (see schedule) takes place in person about twice a month in the Erasmus building. Anyone interested is warmly invited to attend.
Further upcoming events
Fall 2025: Reading Group on Foundations of QFT in Curved Spacetimes. In the 2025 Oxford Michaelmas term the QFT^2 reading group will focus on QFT in curved spacetimes. This reading group is joined by people in Irvine, Oxford, the Netherlands and India and is therefore truly global. Sessions take place on Fridays at 16:00 UK time and run from 17 October to 5 December.
Past events
On 4 June 2025 Jill North spoke about Losing an i: On the Naturalness of Complex Numbers for Quantum Mechanics as part of the Quarterly Lectures on Philosophy of Science (see here).
On 9-10 January 2025 we finally celebrated the official launch of the RCNP under the title “Impossible triangles of thought”. All recordings are now online.
On 29 November and 6 December 2024 Roman Frigg and Angela Potochnik presented at the Quarterly Lectures on Philosophy of Science (additional info here).
On 4 October 2024 we hosted the fourth HPP-NL workshop (see programme). Including online participation, we welcomed about 30 colleagues from the Netherlands and abroad.
On 6-8 September 2024 the yearly Weekend Seminar on Philosophy of Physics took place at Radboud University. We welcomed roughly 25 international physics and/or philosophy undergraduate students at Radboud.
On 8 April 2024 Klaas Landsman and Marij van Strien talked about chaos and randomness at the philosophical cafe in Nijmegen.
