Members

Prof. dr. Nicolaas P. Landsman (IMAPP) is professor in mathematical physics and founder of the RCNP. An overview of the courses he teaches can be found on his university webpage. Also check out his NWO profile page and his (Dutch) Wikipedia page.

Prof. dr. Henk de Regt (ISiS) is professor in philosophy of the natural sciences and director of the Institute for Science in Society. His research focuses around the theme of scientific understanding. He also coordinates and teaches in the MA Philosophy of Natural and Life Sciences.

Prof. dr. Carla Rita Palmerino (CHPS) is professor in the history of early modern science and philosophy.

Prof. dr. Christoph H. Lüthy (CHPS) is professor in the history of philosophy and science.

Dr. Marij van Strien (CHPS) is an assistant professor working on the history and philosophy of physics in the nineteenth and twentieth century. Check out her university webpage for an up-to-date overview of the courses she teaches.

Dr. Kian Salimkhani (ISiS) is an assistant professor in the philosophy of science, working on metaphysical, methodological, and foundational questions in physics. His key research areas include the philosophy of spacetime, philosophy of quantum gravity, fundamentality and emergence, and unification in physics.

Dr. Manus Visser (IMAPP) is an assistant professor in mathematical physics, working on entropy of black holes and cosmological horizons.

PhD candidates

Silvester S.G. Borsboom MSc MA (IMAPP) is a PhD student under the supervision of Klaas Landsman and Manus Visser, working on black hole thermodynamics.

Karla Weingarten BSc MA (ISiS) is a PhD student under the supervision of Henk de Regt, Klaas Landsman and Kian Salimkhani.
